Take part at Balkan Green Belt photo contest and win prizes!

Center for Protection and Research of birds in cooperation with german organization euroNatur and IUCN Regional Office for Easter and Central Asia (IUCN ECARO) second time in the row is organizing photo contest "Balkan Green Belt" with the aim to promote natural and cultural values of the former Iron Curtain in Montenegro. This area includes delta of river Bojana, Ulcinj Salina, Skadar Lake, the canyon of river Cijevna and National Park Prokletije.

The closing date for submission of photos is 15th July 2017. The competition is open to all persons who visited the Balkan Green Belt of Montenegro. The submitted pictures have to be taken along the Balkan Green Belt and sent to the e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
The winners can expect following prizes:

  1. prize: Tablet Asus Zen Ped
  2. prize: Sony digital photo frame
  3. prize: external power bank

The steering jury composed from following persons which decide about the winning photos:

  • Vladana Vojinović, Vladana Vojinović photography;
  • Ivan Savić, photographer;
  • Damira Kalač, daily newspaper "Vijesti".

The prize-winning pictures will be represented on the website of Center for Protection and Research of birds The winners will be announced on 31st July 2017.

In addition, the national winners will automatically take part in the international Balkan Green Belt contest 2017. Each of the 9 countries along the Balkan Green Belt sends 3 national winner pictures to the international competition.
The board of the European Green Belt Association will select the 5 international winner pictures, which will be presented on the website

The photo contest is being implemented at the same time in all Balkan countries (Serbia, FYR Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Turkey and Montenegro) and presents the activity of the regional project "Protecting Biodiversity in the Balkans-Strengthening Cooperation along the Balkan Green Belt" which is supported by German Federal Environmental Foundation. The aim of the project is the improvement of cooperation on protection and promotion of the Green Belt, the network of protected areas and important areas which should be protected and which are situated along the former "Iron Curtain" on the Balkans.
